To All Ontario District Brethren:
It seems such a short time ago! - From last July at the Royal York Hotel
attending the ceremony of my installation as DDGM for Ontario District,
and now we are looking to do the same for my successor next month.
Brethren, it seems a blur tracing our path through this past year. The month of August 2009 spent in planning the year and briefing the District as to how the limits of the trestleboard were going to point the direction and timing of our profit and pleasure. How after our 15 Official Visits and 15 Installations we were still going to have time to attend other installations and official visits of Lodges outside the District.
To the various District Chairmen - my thanks for the way in which the Lodges
of Instruction were handled, as well as the enthusiastic and frequent manner
in which the Lodge Resources programs were put to the test at various breakfast
and evening events. It confirms that the F2F, B2B and Mentors programs
really are working.
The Masoni-Ch.I.P. program is gaining momentum, we are gaining back ground in our Blood Donors program, we have almost doubled the targeted amount of $10,000 for the current District Project (Cure for Prostate Cancer). The District Gala is a benchmark event in Ontario District and is a large source of income for the DDGM’s project. The Lodge Librarian as well as the District Pipers travelled many miles with me over this past year. My sincere thanks to the Advisory committee for their assistance and advice when called upon and the gracious way they supported the District by supporting me. To W. Bro. Craig Robinson thanks for a job well done as District Secretary.
The Grand Master's reception was a wonderful success due in no small part
to the leadership provided by the Reception committee and the support of
the District Brethren and their Ladies. The same must be said for the fine
attendance at the District Divine Service in Port Hope during the same
weekend.
I must thank the Brethren of Hope Lodge No. 114 for the work accomplished
in hosting a well attended party on the occasion of the 150th anniversary
since Hope Lodge received it's charter.
The quality of the floor work and ritual in the degrees put on by the various Lodges of our District always makes it a pleasure to be in attendance. Keep up the good work! Continue visiting!!
In closing, I would like to say that serving as DDGM of Ontario District has been the high point of my Masonic career. The Masters, Secretaries, Chairmen and Brethren have only themselves to thank for making this happen. Thank you all!!
